The Full Story
Hello and welcome to The Tipsy Mermaid!
My name is Sara, owner and operator of The Tipsy Mermaid.
I started looking in to the mobile bar business when the pandemic hit us in 2020. I was working as a bartender in the middle of nowhere Alaska, just to make some money after being laid off. Luckily for me, and the residents of this small but close community, the bar was outside city limits so they didn't have to shut down. I fell in love with bartending, but when the city opened up again I went back to the office.
Time goes by and my now husband and I get engaged! I spent every hour of every day planning for our wedding and it was my favorite part of it all. I wanted to make some extra money on the side, so I started working special events as a bartender during the hours I wasn't at my day job.
Once again, I fell in love.
The more I worked in the office during the day and the bartending job on the side, the more I imagined running my own business as a mobile bartender. So I talked to my fiancé about all of these dreams I had for our future and what I wanted to do with my life, and we decided to go out and buy a horse trailer to convert into a mobile bar.
Fast forward to our wedding, it was an absolute dream...but when we came home, the planning was over. I was so excited to plan everything for our big day, that when we came home and there was nothing left to do, I decided it was time to get back to planning my dream.
So here I am, writing this blog for you to read my story. I am beyond proud to say The Tipsy Mermaid is officially in business and ready for you to book your 2023 event. I can't wait to hear what your plans are and so excited that my husband and I get to be a part of it.
